The Mount Vernon Trail, also referred to as the MVT, is a 17-mile-long trail that runs through Alexandria, as well as through other immediate communities, too. This well-defined path is a great place to walk, jog, bike, and sightsee at all of the beautiful surroundings in the region. The Mount Vernon Trail first opened in 1972 and provides people in the region with a great place to take in the views, as they enjoy the great outdoors, too.

Many families find their local enjoyment at the Great Waves Waterpark. This 20-acre oasis is open seasonally, and offers a variety of pools, waterslides, playground equipment, mini golf, batting cages, and so much more. During the winter season, guests will find a seasonal ice rink in the park, which can be a great place for trying your skills at ice-skating. The Great Waves Waterpark offers daily passes, as well as year-round passes, too.

Alexandria, and all of the other surrounding communities, offer many outdoor recreational activities.
